As part of the Global Days of Action on Military Spending, Yorkshire CND organised an action at Menwith Hill to highlight both the role the base plays in US military operations and to continue their calls for accountability regarding the base. Some photos from the walk around the base and protest at NSA/NRO Menwith Hill last night in support of the Global Days on Military Spending – as President Trump proposes massive increases in spending on Space Force and the Golden Dome project.
As President Dwight D. Eisenhower said in a 1953 speech: “Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.”
