We decided to leaflet on the issue of aid not Arms for Syria on Monday 15th April between the Railway Station in Leicester and the main street into town, from 5 – 6.30.
Although there were only 3 of us, from the moment posters went up on the walls behind us people were queuing to sign the petition, and we gave out over 300 leaflets. Many took copies of the petition to put up at work, in shared housing and amongst their family. Others asked for extra leaflets to share around colleagues and friends. Many, many people have become increasingly concerned about this as an issue, and consequently about the arms trade generally.
We have decided we will try to leaflet in different areas each week, and try to hold a monthly meeting to raise awareness and plan further events.
